JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo will begin selling private-label wines at its restaurants on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The red wines were selected by the hotel's sommeliers and purchased by the barrel from Memuro Winery in Memuro, Hokkaido.

About the private wines
JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo began offering private wines in 2023 with the aim of giving guests the opportunity to taste high-quality wines that fully express the terroir of Hokkaido's cool climate and the character of its grape varieties.
For the second release, the hotel will serve red wines from Memuro Winery, which began vinification in 2020 in Memuro, amid the fertile landscapes of Tokachi, Hokkaido.
What's inside
To let guests experience the differences between wines from individual vineyards, the private-wine selection includes two reds: grape grower Hideki Kikuchi's “Yamasachi vin2023” and Yoshitsugu Kuroda's “Yamasachi vin2023.”
Each is made from Yamasachi, a wine grape with wild-grape lineage grown in Tokachi's demanding climate, and slowly aged for one year in French oak barrels, producing two distinctive expressions.
The hotel's nine sommeliers will recommend dishes to suit each guest's wine preference. Before sales begin at four hotel restaurants on Saturday, March 1, the private wines will make their debut at the hotel's February 15 event, “Northern Fine Wine Evening: An Adult Moment Woven from Wine, Food and Music.”
