About the Winemaking Academy
The Winemaking Academy is a course offered by Swimmy Japan Co., Ltd., operator of Fukagawa Winery Tokyo, for people interested in wine production. It provides systematic learning from the fundamentals of winemaking through practical application.
Participants can deepen their understanding of wine theory and acquire professional techniques through hands-on work in an actual winery.
Five Features of the Winemaking Academy
The five main learning points are:
1. Focus on winemaking fundamentals and practice. Participants learn the practical processes for white, red, and other wine styles.
2. Take part in actual winemaking during practical training, using professional equipment in a working winery.
3. Learn not only from sommeliers but also from winemakers. The head winemaker of an urban winery serves as an instructor.
4. Convenient Tokyo locations. Lectures and practical sessions are held at Shibuya Winery and Fukagawa Winery.
5. Receive a bottle with an original label. Wine that students helped produce will be presented as a commemorative bottle with a personalized label.
An optional practical course for people interested in winery management is also available.
