"Shinshu Ueda Matsutake & Wine Festival 2023" will be held over two days on Saturday (national holiday), September 23, and Sunday, September 24, in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture.
During the event, many popular Shinshu ingredients and gourmet food vendors will set up stalls.
Visitors can enjoy pairings of matsutake mushroom dishes and over 100 varieties of wines from Chikuma River Wine Valley.

"Shinshu Ueda Matsutake & Wine Festival 2023" is a gastronomy festival held on September 23 (Sat, holiday) and September 24 (Sun) at the Ueda Castle Ruins Park Lawn Area (Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture).
In addition to enjoying matsutake dishes and pairings with over 100 types of wines from Chikuma River Wine Valley that can only be savored at this event, visitors can also enjoy a rich lineup of content including stage performances by popular magicians and singers, as well as the "Matsutake Dish and Wine Pairing Championship."

On the days of the event, numerous matsutake dishes available nowhere else will make an appearance, including dishes made with premium Shinshu beef, pork, chicken, prosciutto, cheese, and matsutake mushrooms, as well as giant matsutake paella, matsutake pizza, matsutake galette, matsutake & soy sauce soft serve ice cream, and matsutake salt Basque cheesecake.
Furthermore, nine wineries from Chikuma River Wine Valley and a wine bar specializing in Nagano wine will open booths, allowing visitors to enjoy over 100 varieties of premium wines from Chikuma River Wine Valley.
In addition, the "Matsutake Dish & Wine Pairing Championship" will be held at the venue.
Attendees can vote for the "wine that pairs best with matsutake dishes" and the "matsutake dish that pairs best with wine" that they actually tasted at the venue, and voters will have a chance to win premium wines from Chikuma River Wine Valley and other prizes through a lottery.
