The winery is "Bellwood Vineyard Co., Ltd." (hereafter Bellwood Vineyard), located in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture.

The Beginnings of Bellwood Vineyard
Bellwood Vineyard is a winery founded in 2017 in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, by representative Tomoaki Suzuki, who is also a grape grower and winemaker.
After three years of custom crush winemaking, the up-and-coming winery acquired its winemaking license in 2020 and began its own in-house winemaking.
Representative Mr. Suzuki is a veteran with 19 years of experience in viticulture and winemaking.
Around the time he was searching for the ideal land to launch his own brand, the "Kaminoyama Wine Village Project" was established in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, aimed at regional revitalization through wine and attracting new wineries.
Kaminoyama City has a history as a wine grape producing region, known for its climate and terroir suitable for fruit cultivation, and with a track record of cultivating high-quality European grape varieties.
Given the exceptionally high technical skill of local growers, he reportedly decided to establish his agricultural career in the Kubote district of Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture.
Incidentally, the winery name "Bellwood Vineyard" is said to come from the surname of representative Mr. Suzuki: "Suzu = Bell" and "Ki = Wood".

The Appeal of Bellwood Vineyard
"Bellwood Vineyard" is located in the Kubote and Uramachi districts of Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, at an elevation of approximately 250 meters.
The area is characterized by heavy clay soil mixed with stones and sits atop gentle hills with south-facing and north-facing slopes, offering all the ideal conditions for viticulture including good drainage, ample sunlight, and good ventilation.
Currently, the estate vineyards cultivate multiple grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and seeded Delaware.
In this scenic and nature-rich location overlooking the Zao Mountain Range, high-quality grapes and wonderful wines are produced.

In fact, it was created over a long period with Ushio Tsuchizawa (Design Office Page), an editorial and graphic designer residing in Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, and the logo design features the motif of the "Liberty Bell," a symbol of American independence and freedom.
It is said to be a special design reflecting the passion of Mr. Suzuki, who loves American culture including fashion, vehicles, and design.
