About
Yamaguchi Winery was founded on the historical fact that this area was once a grape-growing region. Its aim is to help establish Yamaguchi Prefecture as a source of world-class wine. It consists of Yamaguchi Wine Farmland, which grows wine-grape varieties and searches for cultivars suited to the local climate, and Yamaguchi Wine, which seeks to make genuinely expressive and delicious wines that draw out the strengths of Japanese-grown grapes.\n\nIt may differ somewhat from the conventional image of a winery, but its highest priority is respect for the natural environment. The winery hopes to remain a nostalgic landscape where kingfishers catch fish and fireflies dance—somewhere that stirs the emotions of travelers and evokes a sense of familiarity.
