You want to tour wineries in Yamanashi Prefecture, but driving a car is a hurdle.
Here is good news for such people.
JTB Corp. will begin sales of the "Shingen Pass", which allows visitors to enjoy Yamanashi using only public transportation without driving a car, starting Thursday, June 29.
While it was only available for one month during the autumn foliage season until last year, due to popular demand, it will be available this year for the period from Saturday, July 1 to Thursday, November 30.
Here are the details.
What is the "Shingen Pass"?
The "Shingen Pass" is a travel product created as part of the Yamanashi Tourism MaaS project.
Yamanashi Tourism MaaS conducted demonstration projects as a Yamanashi Prefecture project from 2021 with the aim of resolving regional secondary transportation issues, promoting sightseeing tours within the prefecture, and increasing tourism spending; since 2022, it has been operated with the JTB Kofu Branch as the operating entity.
Furthermore, one of the "Shingen Passes" newly launched in 2023 is the "Shingen Pass Premium".
It is a travel product that includes a round-trip JR ticket (fare ticket + standard reserved-seat limited express ticket / day trip) from Shinjuku, Tachikawa, or Hachioji to Kofu, unlimited rides on Yamanashi Kotsu local buses, a ticket for the Shosenkyo Ropeway, and additionally a Yamanashi gourmet ticket redeemable around JR Kofu Station.
Convenient for Touring Wineries as Well!
The "Shingen Pass" boasts great convenience, but the key highlight is that because you can sightsee without driving, you can enjoy wine produced in Yamanashi Prefecture—the top producer in Japan—with peace of mind.
Moreover, because it comes with a Yamanashi gourmet ticket usable at spots such as "SADOYA WINE BOUTIQUE", it is an irresistible plan for wine lovers.
