Wine fans, let's learn about sake too! The "1st Premium Washu Fes in Nihonbashi" on February 7 and 8!

Japan's "traditional sake making" has been decided to be inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

There may be many Japanese wine fans who wish to use this opportunity to deepen their knowledge of sake.

An event commemorating this, the "1st Premium Washu Fes in Nihonbashi," will be held over the two days of Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Special sake seminars will also be held.

Let's take a look at the details.

"1st Premium Washu Fes in Nihonbashi"

The "1st Premium Washu Fes in Nihonbashi" is an event hosted by the Washu Fes Executive Committee.

Commemorating the inscription of "traditional sake making" on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, it will be held at "KABUTO ONE" 4F Hall & Conference.

Washu Fes is a sake-tasting festival to enjoy Japanese alcoholic beverages, food, and Japanese culture carefully selected from all across the country.

The "Washu Fes," which had been held outdoors until now, will be held indoors for the first time as the "Premium Washu Fes."

Join the Special Sake Seminar

This time, the theme of Premium Washu Fes is "a slightly luxurious tasting festival to enjoy seasonal Japanese alcoholic beverages, food, local regions, and Japanese culture while feeling the season."

As part of "EDUCATION," one of the premium experiences of this event, a "Special Sake Seminar" will be held where you can deepen your knowledge of sake and enjoy it even more deliciously.

The special sake seminar covers basic knowledge of sake, sake as culture and refinement, sake as a world liquor, characteristics as a fermented beverage, and the regionality and history of sake breweries.

Furthermore, it is a valuable seminar where you can thoroughly learn about sake, including flavor variations based on ingredients, temperature, and drinkware, the profound depth of aged vintage sake, pairings of sake and cuisine, and home-aging methods.

With the news of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage inscription, Japanese wine fans must also be harboring a strong interest in sake.
