From October 30 through November 1, TORANOMON HILLS WINE FES was held at Toranomon Hills, featuring wines selected by 18 exhibitors at the forefront of today’s wine scene, including a new generation of unconventional wineries and up-and-coming sommeliers.
Numerous Japanese-wine producers gathered as well, including Château Mercian and Domaine Beau from Toyama Prefecture. Beyond wine, specialty cheese shop LAMMAS offered carefully matured cheeses, and wine lovers enjoyed the event after work.
The wine festival was organized by Mori Building Co., Ltd.
Daiku Ando, who was responsible for planning, said, “We want people to stop by after work, enjoy wine casually with colleagues and friends, and experience an advanced style of urban life.”
Operations were led by Kyota Narisawa of TRANSIT HOLDINGS INC. The producers, importers and wine shops assembled through his network made for an impressive lineup.
He spoke especially strongly about Japanese wine, including producers he has personally visited, saying he hopes to help bring Japanese wine to the world.

Urban life and wine culture are a natural match from many perspectives, including social connection and sensibility.
Sales of additional tasting coins also appeared brisk. With the event directly outside the station gates and just steps from offices, it offered a pleasant chance for commuters to enjoy wines from many regions with friends and acquaintances.
