Tochigi Wine Also Makes an Appearance! "Negi Festival" Held at "Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Nasu"!

Japan's first agriturismo resort, "Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Nasu."

At this hotel, the "Negi Festival" will be held for the first time from November 1 to November 30, 2022, offering guests the chance to grill, eat, and enjoy seasonal negi (green onions/leeks).

In addition to various negi-related activities, guests can also enjoy pairings with wines crafted at wineries within Tochigi Prefecture.

Let us take a closer look at the details.

Why a "Negi Festival"?

In the Nasu area where "Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Nasu" is located, negi comes into season around November, reaching its harvest peak.

In addition, rice is grown in the resort's rice paddies from spring through autumn, and once the rice harvest finishes at the end of October, the paddies become an expansive, open space.

Thus, the resort planned and organized this event to make use of the spacious rice paddy area to grill, savor, and enjoy seasonal "negi."

Highlights of the Negi Festival

At the Negi Festival, these appealing activities are offered:

  • Negi dynamically grilled right before your eyes
  • Enjoying seasonal negi with a variety of sauces
  • Wine savored alongside negi
  • Items featuring a "negi" motif

While all of them sound enticing, for Japanese wine fans, the third one, "Wine savored alongside negi," is of special interest.

What pairs with the negi served at the festival are various wines from Tochigi Prefecture.

You can enjoy the marriage of negi with carefully crafted wines made at wineries in Tochigi Prefecture, such as Coco Farm & Winery.

Furthermore, pairing them with wine is said to bring out a crisp, refreshing appreciation of the negi's sweetness and aroma, so why not experience its true value for yourself?

Enjoy Negi × Wine!

The "Negi Festival" will run from November 1 to November 30, 2022.

It is open to hotel guests and takes place in the rice paddies.

Participation is free, and wine is available starting at 500 yen per glass.

During this season when negi is delicious, why not take a trip to enjoy the pairings with wines Tochigi Prefecture takes pride in?
