For those who want to challenge themselves to earn the pinnacle of sommelier certifications,
a course recommended for you will be held.
On Monday, November 25, Caplan Wine Academy will host "The Certified Sommelier Examination" for the first time in Japan, a certification examination that leads toward "Master Sommelier," the highest pinnacle of sommelier qualifications.
Here are the details.
About "Master Sommelier"
"Master Sommelier" is the highest rank offered by "The Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS)," a sommelier certification organization, and is regarded as the most challenging sommelier qualification in the world.
The pass rate is between 3% and 8%, and currently only about 300 sommeliers worldwide hold this qualification. Obtaining the qualification requires three stages of certification courses and examinations, and Caplan Wine Academy currently offers examinations up to the second stage.
About "The Certified Sommelier Examination"
This time, Caplan Wine Academy is offering "The Certified Sommelier Examination."
These are the first- and second-step certification examinations required to obtain the "Master Sommelier" certification, and in Japan, they can only be taken at Caplan Wine Academy.
In February 2024, Caplan Wine Academy launched the "Introductory Sommelier Course & Examination," the essential first-step qualification course required to aim for the "Master Sommelier" certification, the highest level of sommelier credentials.
Now, for those who have completed the "Introductory Sommelier Course & Examination" and passed the certification exam, the second-step examination, "The Certified Sommelier Examination," will be held.
In addition, the "Introductory Sommelier Course & Examination" will also be held on November 23 and 24.
Interested candidates can take on the challenge of both the first-step qualification course and the second-step examination, which are essential for earning the "Master Sommelier" qualification, in just three days.
If you aspire to become a sommelier active on the global stage, why not give it a try?
