Fairfield by Marriott Hiroshima Sera to Hold Collaborative Tasting with Sera Winery on July 11

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, a wine tasting event in collaboration with Sera Winery of Sera, Hiroshima Prefecture, will be held in the lobby of Fairfield by Marriott Hiroshima Sera.

The event is open to guests staying at the hotel.

About the wine tasting

The tasting will take place at Fairfield by Marriott Hiroshima Sera.

On the day, guests can enjoy Japanese wines made from 100% Sera-grown grapes while listening to commentary from the winery’s facility manager, who is also a certified sommelier.

Sera in Hiroshima Prefecture has long developed as a fruit-growing region, including pear cultivation, thanks to a climate well suited to orchards with large day-night temperature differences.

Located on the Sera Plateau, Sera Winery uses only grapes carefully grown by around 17 contracted farmers in the town and remains committed to producing “Japanese wine” without relying on imported concentrated grape juice.

At the event, facility manager and sommelier Yasuharu Hata will explain the flavor characteristics, production methods, and stories behind each wine, allowing guests to savor wines shaped by the unique terroir of Sera.

Wines available for tasting

The tasting will include “Sera Wine Chardonnay Sparkling,” made from 100% Sera-grown Chardonnay and finished in the traditional method through secondary fermentation in bottle.

It is characterized by fine bubbles, gentle fruit, and a light, elegant mouthfeel.

The refreshing white wine “Hyakka Saint-Sémillon 2021” will also be served.

If you are staying at Fairfield by Marriott Hiroshima Sera that day, why not stop by the lobby?
