The "TENJIN x Château Mercian Maker's Dinner" is a collaborative event between ROKU KYOTO's restaurant "TENJIN" and "Château Mercian," a wine brand that traces its roots back to Dainihon Yamanashi Wine Company, Japan's first private wine company established in 1877, and can truly be called the origin of Japanese wine.
This is a one-night-only special event where guests can enjoy pairings of innovative French cuisine with Japanese wine characterized by perfect harmony reminiscent of a Japanese garden.
About the Wines Served
At this maker's dinner, the rare red wine "Kikyogahara Merlot Signature," which traces its lineage to the wine that achieved the historic first Grand Gold Medal for a Japanese wine at the Ljubljana International Wine Competition 1989, will be served.
Furthermore, guests can compare seven Japanese wines that embody the "finesse and elegance" pursued by Château Mercian, including two white wines with distinct flavor profiles shaped by the terroir of the Hokushin district in northern Nagano Prefecture, a renowned Chardonnay-producing region: "Hokushin Left Bank Chardonnay Rivalis" and "Hokushin Right Bank Chardonnay Rivalis."
Additionally, Katsuhisa Fujino, Senior Winemaker from Château Mercian, will make a guest appearance on the day of the event.
