On January 29, Growstars Co., Ltd. will release “RARE CASK SUPREME KOBE BRANDY 21 Year Old.”
The brandy was originally Kobe Brandy produced from 1993 at the Brandy & Beer Hall inside Fruit Flower Park in Kita-ku, Kobe, a facility operated by Kobe Minori Public Corporation’s Kobe Winery.

About Kobe Winery’s Brandy
“RARE CASK SUPREME KOBE BRANDY 21 Year Old” originated as Kobe Brandy produced from 1993 at the Brandy & Beer Hall in Fruit Flower Park, Kita-ku, Kobe, a facility owned by Kobe Minori Public Corporation’s Kobe Winery, an affiliated organization of Kobe City.
However, two years later in 1995, production stopped due to the impact of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Kobe Winery later continued producing brandy at its agricultural park in Nishi-ku, Kobe, using a 1,000-liter still, but production there also eventually ceased completely.
The brandy distillate produced at the time was subsequently transferred to Kobe Winery’s agricultural park and, according to the company, aged in Limousin oak barrels.
This precious brandy, now available only in limited quantities after aging for more than 20 years, has now been transferred to sherry casks at Kobe Distillery for a further seven months of maturation.
About “RARE CASK SUPREME KOBE BRANDY 21 Year Old”
Each bottle of Kobe Brandy is produced using the equivalent of approximately 15 bottles of Chardonnay white wine.
The grapes used for the wine are all grown in Kobe, harvested by hand and carefully sorted, making this an especially luxurious product.
The brandy is also distilled twice over direct heat using a Charentais pot still (alambic Charentais), the same type used for premium Cognac.
Long aging in two different types of cask is said to add still greater aromatic depth.
A deeply flavored, highly aromatic brandy shaped by two kinds of barrel.
