Japanese cider is gaining popularity among Japanese wine fans as well.
The 3rd installment of the series recreating the "apple cider" that appears in the novels of literary master Osamu Dazai, led by local apple farmers and volunteer members, goes on pre-sale starting Wednesday, April 3.
Here are the details.
About "Dazai's Apple Cider"
"Dazai's Apple Cider" is the beverage that appears in the novel "Tsugaru," published by Osamu Dazai in 1944.
The "Did Dazai Drink It?! Phantom Apple Cider Recreation Project" conducts research on that era and works toward a faithful recreation.
"Tsugaru" faithfully recreates the apple cider that appeared in Dazai's novel "Tsugaru," which was drunk at the time as a substitute for sake.
Following the development of alcoholic beverages named after Dazai's works such as "RASHO Dedicated to Osamu Dazai," "No Longer Human," and "The Setting Sun," this release marks the 3rd installment.
About the 3rd Series Installment
Here is the 3rd series installment of the "apple cider" featured in the novels of literary master Osamu Dazai.
★Run, Melos!
Combining the popular Orin apple variety with shekwasha citrus, it is characterized by lively acidity and a crisp finish.
It is an apple cider with a new flavor profile that evokes the scenery and atmosphere of Sicily, the setting of "Run, Melos!".
★One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji
Inspired by the famous line "Evening primroses suit Mount Fuji well," it blends the mainstream Fuji apple variety with Toki, a yellow variety evoking evening primroses.
With a fresh, effervescent mouthfeel driven by carbonation, a versatile apple cider that pairs well with any meal was born.
To celebrate the launch of the brand site on Friday, March 29, these 3rd installment items will go on pre-sale starting Wednesday, April 3.
