A must-try for Japanese wine fans! Fruit beverage brand "Junzosen" releases four varieties of cloudy fruit sake!

While wine is a fermented beverage made from grapes, alcoholic drinks made with fruits other than grapes are also gaining popularity.

Here, we introduce four varieties of cloudy fruit sake recently released by Marukai Corporation and brewed at Minami Shinshu's sake brewery, Kikusui Shuzo.

These cloudy fruit sakes are also highly recommended for Japanese wine fans.

New Possibilities for Traditional Sake

The cloudy fruit sakes released this time come in four varieties: apple, peach, La France pear, and yuzu.

Kikusui Shuzo, a sake brewery in Minami Shinshu, brewed this cloudy sake using the richly pressed domestic fruit juice characteristic of the fruit beverage brand "Junzosen."

According to the brewery, they arrived at the realization that true individuality—such as body and flavor—resides within the complexity of "cloudiness" (nigori), and by combining richly pressed fruit juice with cloudy sake (nigori-zake), they were able to create a product that makes the most of each ingredient's distinct character.

Rather than sweet, easy-to-drink fruit liqueurs, they expressed an authentic sake-like flavor profile that can also be enjoyed paired with meals.

Under the theme of "Making traditional cloudy sake a more blissful drink with rich fruit!", they hope people will enjoy it not only straight, but also in a wide variety of styles, such as on the rocks or with soda.
