About Mercatino Tash Nami
Mercatino Tash Nami is located in a small multi-tenant complex utilizing the Former Niie Clinic, a Matsumoto City Modern Heritage building adjacent to the Matsumoto City Hall East Building and about a 3-minute walk from the Matsumoto Castle intersection.
Mercatino Tash Nami will open in a corner of this collection of distinctive shops that add color to daily life, alongside a specialty canelé shop, a shop for handcrafted wooden-barrel pens and wooden bookmarks, and a massage salon.
Born in Matsumoto, the owner was fascinated by wine and Italy's rich regional food culture after working at a wine importer, and went on to study in Italy.
As a JSA-certified Wine Expert and WSA-certified Italian Wine Sommelier, the owner has worked as a buyer for a major wine importer, visited wineries throughout Japan while studying various aspects of winemaking at the Nagano Wine Brewing Academy and Shiojiri Wine College, and also works as an Italian interpreter—a true wine professional with diverse talents.
It is said that Tash Nami was created to connect the owner's hometown of Matsumoto with a life's work of travel, food, and wine.
Enjoying Wine in Matsumoto
From a private collection, Tash Nami's wines are centered on Burgundy wines, offering by the glass around 20 varieties of ready-to-drink old vintage wines at all times.
In addition, guests can also enjoy carefully selected monthly-themed wines from around the world.
The shop is a 15-minute walk from JR Matsumoto Station and about 3 hours from Shinjuku Station.
A recommended plan is to visit wineries in nearby Shiojiri or Azumino, and then refresh at the end of 1 day with a truly exquisite glass of wine.
Going forward, they plan to make the venue available for photoshoots and organize collaboration events with local winery producers as well as businesses in the same and other industries.
