Upon request from the Katsunuma Library in Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture—which likely holds the largest collection of Katsunuma wine materials in Japan—we have donated a DVD of the Japanese wine documentary film "Vin Japonais."
(Donations were also made simultaneously to Enzan Library and Yamato Library in the same city.)
A grape and wine corner is set up here, lined with many books and materials on wine and grapes.
And it is a library famous for receiving great acclaim for such initiatives!

Cultivating and Utilizing the Regional Resource of "Grapes and Wine" as Matter-of-Course Practice
They constantly keep their antennae up in all directions, actively collecting materials on grapes and wine.
Among the materials I actually viewed, there were many extremely valuable items that seemed unavailable anywhere else, ranging from books of that era to pamphlets and flyers.
In addition, I was able to see many glimpses of legendary Katsunuma producers in their 20s, such as Haruo Omura of Marufuji Winery and Mitsuhiro Anzo of Mercian.
Furthermore, for more than 20 years up to the present day, they have reportedly looked through at least 5 morning newspapers every morning, collecting and archiving articles related to Katsunuma and Yamanashi wine and grapes as reference materials.
As for the reason for the LoY award,
For over 20 years since its opening, Katsunuma Library has consistently practiced regional studies focusing on "grapes and wine" as regional resources, beginning as a matter-of-course endeavor with the collection of materials related to the local history, culture, industry—in other words, the "daily life" itself—of "grapes and wine." (Omitted)
I would also like to add that this series of initiatives has been carried out as a matter-of-course practice in this area since long before terms such as problem-solving support and agricultural support came into existence.
it is stated as such.

To Those Who Want to Learn About Katsunuma Wine! Head to Katsunuma Library
For those who want to study and learn about Katsunuma wine, drinking it is of course great, and commercially available textbooks and online information are convenient, but I highly recommend visiting Katsunuma Library at least once.
There are also many wineries dotted around the area, so there is no doubt you will spend 1 fulfilling day.
And having worked in this field for several years myself, I strongly felt how much more efficient my work would have been if only I had known of this place sooner.
