From Saturday, July 19 through Monday, July 21, a collaboration event with “Etanbetsu Blue Cheese” will be held at Domaine Raison’s directly operated boutique in Nakafurano.
The event celebrates the in-store launch of the intensely sweet “Noble Rot Naka-Furano Kerner 2024,” made with botrytized grapes harvested from the winery’s own vineyard.
Here are the details.
About “Noble Rot Naka-Furano Kerner 2024”
Domaine Raison produces and sells wine in Nakafurano, Hokkaido, under the concept of being a winery that “creates together with goats.”
In-store sales of “Noble Rot Naka-Furano Kerner 2024,” an intensely sweet wine made from botrytized grapes harvested in the estate vineyard, will begin on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Because the conditions needed to produce noble-rot grapes are so difficult to achieve, they are harvested in only a limited number of places around the world.
In 2024, all of the necessary conditions, including the weather, came together, allowing botrytized grapes to be harvested in Nakafurano for the first time.
About the Collaboration Event
To mark the release of “Noble Rot Naka-Furano Kerner 2024,” Domaine Raison will hold a collaboration event with “Etanbetsu Blue Cheese,” described as an ideal pairing for the wine.
During the event, the noble-rot wine, normally sold only by the bottle, will also be served by the glass with Etanbetsu Blue Cheese.
The wine’s exceptional sweetness and rich aroma pair beautifully with blue cheese, whose aromatic mold character and moderate saltiness accentuate the wine’s sweetness, while the wine’s richness softens and rounds out the cheese’s flavor.
On the first day, a short seminar is also scheduled with wine consultant Katsuyuki Takahashi and Domaine Raison winemaker Junya Nogo.
