“IMADEYA KAKU-UCHI TOKYO” will open on Thursday, September 10, 2026, inside TOFROM YAESU, a new facility directly connected underground to Tokyo Station.
Among its selection of Japanese food and alcoholic beverages, the shop plans to place particular emphasis on “Japanese wine.”
A Shop Built Around the “Kaku-uchi” Experience
“IMADEYA KAKU-UCHI TOKYO” aims to establish “KAKU-UCHI” as a globally recognized term alongside “SAKE.”
As a uniquely Japanese drinking culture attracting attention from overseas, the shop intends to communicate both the culture and distinctive appeal of “KAKU-UCHI” to a wider audience.
It will also function as a place for a modern-day style of casual socializing over drinks, made possible precisely because kaku-uchi allows people to stop in for a quick glass.
Focusing on “Japanese Wine”
The sub-concept of “IMADEYA KAKU-UCHI TOKYO” is: “A standing bar, yet with inspiring drinks and food—a quick taste journey through Japan.”
Taking advantage of its location in Yaesu at Tokyo Station, one of Tokyo’s major gateways, the shop also uses “travel” as a sub-concept. Through carefully selected sake and other drinks from across Japan, paired with dishes supervised by popular restaurants, it aims to offer an inspiring food-and-drink experience that feels like a quick trip around the country even in the middle of a busy day.
Inside, sake, Japanese wine and distilled spirits from regions throughout Japan—including authentic shochu, gin and whisky—will line the shelves by region, along with craft beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests will be free to compare them starting from a single glass.
The shop will place particular emphasis on “Japanese wine,” which has been drawing increasing international attention in recent years, and aims to offer the largest selection of Japanese wine in the Tokyo Station area.
An appealing new kaku-uchi where visitors can enjoy Japanese wine is about to arrive.
