The long-awaited first vintage, "Grande Polaire Hokuto Chardonnay <First Harvest> 2022," has been released in a limited production of 500 bottles.

Here are the details.

About Hokkaido Hokuto Vineyard

Grande Polaire's Hokkaido Hokuto Vineyard is a vineyard opened by the company in June 2018 in a warm area within Hokkaido—an eye-catching grape-growing region expected to suit grape varieties previously considered difficult to cultivate in Hokkaido.

The first phase of planting began in April 2019, followed by last year's harvest, and "Grande Polaire Hokuto Chardonnay <First Harvest> 2022" marks its very first vintage.

About "Grande Polaire Hokuto Chardonnay <First Harvest> 2022"

"Grande Polaire Hokuto Chardonnay <First Harvest> 2022" belongs to Grande Polaire's pinnacle Single Vineyard Series.

It is characterized by the gorgeous aroma of Chardonnay grown with abundant sunlight and high temperatures, along with a well-balanced taste featuring pleasant acidity and fruitiness.

The label impressively expresses the mountains of Hokuto viewed from Hakodate Bay and the clear blue sea of the Tsugaru Strait through gradations of color.

A full-scale release is planned for 2024, and they hope you look forward to the various varieties of Japanese wine produced from Hokkaido Hokuto Vineyard.
