Asahi Breweries, Ltd. will release "Nikka Hirosaki Draft Cidre Orin" (200ml and 500ml bottles), a sparkling wine brewed using "Orin" apples, for a limited time starting October 8.
This is the company's first 4% ABV sparkling wine made with "Orin" apples.
Here are the details.
About "Nikka Hirosaki Draft Cidre"
"Nikka Hirosaki Draft Cidre" is a sparkling wine made from 100% domestic apples, where fermenting the juice squeezed from whole, fresh apples lets you enjoy the juicy, fresh flavor of apples.
Because it is a "draft cidre" made without applying heat during the production process, you can enjoy the natural aroma and sweetness of the apples, making it a popular item supported by a wide range of consumers, from alcohol beginners to regular sparkling wine drinkers.
The newly released "Nikka Hirosaki Draft Cidre Orin" commemorates the 90th anniversary of the founding of Nikka Whisky, and is a 4% ABV sparkling wine that uses the "Orin" variety—a rare find among domestic apples—for the first time.
About the Contents
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' "2023 Bearing Tree Area, Harvest Volume, and Shipment Volume of Apples" (2024), the Orin apple accounts for a 7% share among domestic apple varieties.
"Nikka Hirosaki Draft Cidre Orin" is an item crafted by luxuriously turning this rare apple into sparkling wine.
It features a refreshing sweetness and the rich flavor of apple skin.
The package features an illustration of "Orin" and large text prominently placed in the center.
A deliciousness that will satisfy even Japanese wine fans.
Be sure to check it out.
