From Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 29, "CRAFT VALLEY 361" is taking place primarily around Asahi-cho, Takane-cho, and along National Route 361 in Takayama City.
This year's event reportedly includes winery vineyard tours as a newly added attraction.
Here are the details.
About "CRAFT VALLEY 361"
"CRAFT VALLEY 361" is an event that envisions the entire local area as a showroom, bringing together local artists, workshops, food and drink, and lodging resources around the keyword "craft" along National Route 361, the main road of Asahi-cho in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture.
Along the route are many modern craftsmen, not only in woodworking artists' studios, but also in a theater, a winery, and a whisky distillery housed in a repurposed closed school, making it a place where many everyday living tools and artworks are born.
It is an initiative designed to create a "Craft Valley" by treating the entire region as a showroom.
A Winery Vineyard Too!
"CRAFT VALLEY 361" is in its third year, organized by the Hida Asahi Regional Revitalization Promotion Council.
This year, in addition to new content such as tours of Gifu Prefecture's first dedicated whisky distillery utilizing a closed school, a theater, and a winery vineyard, a free shuttle bus will operate connecting the venue to the "Hida Furniture® Festival" held on the same days.
During the event period, along with exhibition sales at Michi-no-Eki Hida Asahimura Yasuragi-kan and various studios, guided e-bike tours and workshops will also be held.
Why not head out to discover the crafty side of Hida?
