A Private Wine Created in Collaboration Between Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba and Fukagawa Winery Is Here!

Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba, offering moments to "Enjoy Tokyo, Relax in Tokyo," will start selling its private wine on Friday, April 15.

Brewing this wine was Fukagawa Winery from Tokyo's downtown shitamachi area.

Here, we will share what kind of wine it turned out to be.

Private Wine Project Since 2017

Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba has been working on producing private wine in collaboration with Fukagawa Winery since 2017.

For 2022, the harvest was reportedly conducted at the vineyard of "Buono Farm Akashina" in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture.

In this private wine production, with the cooperation of Fukagawa Winery, the entire winemaking process—from harvesting grapes, destemming, pressing, bottling, corking, to label design—is carried out by hotel sommelier and volunteer staff from within the hotel.

This year marks the fourth commercial release of this private wine.

It is said to be an exceptional product that was finally completed through the united efforts of the entire hotel.

About "Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba Private Wine 2021"

The product name of the newly released "Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba Private Wine 2021" is "Azumino Ikegami Merlot 2021 (Filtered / Unfiltered)."

Two types of wine—filtered and unfiltered—made from Merlot from Azumino, a region that has attracted much attention in recent years, are now available.

The filtered wine offers a pleasant, clear appearance with softly rising fruitiness and rounded tannins, while the unfiltered wine is finished with depth while retaining the pure, original flavor of the grapes.

Additionally, a total of three varieties are on sale this time: filtered bottled wine, unfiltered bottled wine, and bag-in-box.

Since bag-in-box formats are rare for Japanese wine, it is also ideal as a gift.

Enjoy Japanese Wine Made with Dedication!

"Azumino Ikegami Merlot 2021 (Filtered / Unfiltered)" is an item that Japanese wine fans will definitely want to keep an eye on.

In particular, since the bag-in-box is limited to only 100 units, those interested should check it out right away.
