"Hokkaido Local Cheese Expo" was first held in 2019 and is a popular, bustling annual event celebrating its 6th year.
It is known as one of Tokyo's largest local cheese events, bringing together Hokkaido cheese workshops and manufacturers, where visitors can encounter more than 300 varieties of Hokkaido cheese in total.
Cheese consumption in Japan has been trending upward, with natural cheese showing particularly remarkable growth.
However, domestic cheese accounts for only about 10% of total natural cheese consumption, making it increasingly important to enhance the competitiveness of domestic cheese alongside maintaining and expanding overall cheese demand.
The event aims to nurture fans of Hokkaido local cheese carefully, as well as foster Hokkaido local cheese as one of the prominent Hokkaido brands.
Under the concept of "incorporating Hokkaido local cheese into daily life," an extensive lineup of content showcasing the charm and ways to enjoy Hokkaido local cheese will be available so that people can enjoy it more frequently every day.
