Start Ethical Consumption with Wine! 10 Natural Wines Now on Sale from "Carefit Farm Winery"!

Carefit Farm Winery (Katsunuma-cho, Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture), a diversity winery operated by the Nippon Care-Fit Education Institute, has released 10 varieties of natural wine.

The wines released this time are made using grapes produced in its own vineyard in Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture.

Let us introduce what kind of wines they are.

About Carefit Farm Winery

"Carefit Farm Winery" began grape growing in Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture in 2016 and is a winery that has operated as an employment support project for persons with disabilities.

It obtained a brewing license in 2018 and has evolved into a "diversity winery" where diverse individuals, including persons with disabilities and the elderly, engage in winemaking.

In its fields in Katsunuma-cho, Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, the winery cultivates Muscat Bailey A and Koshu for wine, as well as Shine Muscat and Pione for table grapes.

They continue to grow grapes in conditions as close to nature as possible, minimizing chemical fertilizers and insecticides as much as feasible.

Furthermore, from 2020, they began natural winemaking using wild yeast.

Amid growing attention toward a sustainable society, they believe that clues to the future of society lie in creating an environment where diverse people find rewarding work, and in the production process of growing and consuming local agricultural products.

About <ToxicⅡ2020>

Among the 10 natural wines released this time by "Carefit Farm Winery," one bottle worthy of special attention is <ToxicⅡ2020>.

Using 100% Muscat Bailey A from its estate vineyard, it is fermented with wild yeast with no added antioxidants.

Bringing out the grape's natural flavor, it is aged in French oak barrels and finished with meticulous completely additive-free methods, such as no chaptalization and no filtration.

Incidentally, "Toxic" used in the product name carries the meaning of "addictive."

It is said to have been named Toxic in the sense of being a wine so addictive that you want to drink it again.

In addition, "Ⅱ" was reportedly added because it is the winemaker's second creation.

The taste is a dry type with a slightly medium body, and it pairs well with light braised dishes featuring dashi broth, or simply seasoned pork and chicken dishes.

Please be sure to taste Katsunuma's Muscat Bailey A, which brings out the grape's inherent individuality to the fullest.
