Trustbank, Inc., operator of Furusato Choice, one of Japan’s largest comprehensive hometown-tax donation sites, launched the special feature “Travel Through Japanese Wine” on June 16, introducing 12 wineries across Japan.
The feature presents more than 30 offerings while conveying each region’s terroir and the producers’ ideas.
Here are the details.
About “Travel Through Japanese Wine”
“Travel Through Japanese Wine” introduces 12 wineries nationwide and communicates the appeal of Japanese wine.
It shares the thinking and background of producers making wine that reflects local conditions, proposing a new way to enjoy hometown-tax donations by connecting with regions through wine.
The feature includes more than 30 thank-you gifts, including Furusato Choice exclusives, limited products supporting earthquake recovery, and experience-based gifts that let donors visit wineries and interact locally. The lineup links regional attractions with donations in a variety of ways.
By communicating these region-specific initiatives and challenges through the hometown-tax program, Trustbank aims to further promote regional appeal and energize the Japanese wine market.
Content
Under the theme “A special glass that connects you with a region,” the feature presents Japanese wines nurtured at 12 wineries nationwide together with the local terroir and stories of the challenges behind them.
Furusato Choice-exclusive gifts include limited wine sets supporting earthquake recovery and rare wines being offered through the platform for the first time.
At SAYS FARM in Himi, Toyama Prefecture, donations from a limited wine set support earthquake recovery. At Kikuka Winery in Yamaga, Kumamoto Prefecture, barrel-aged Chardonnay and Merlot are being offered for the first time through hometown-tax donations.
Going forward, the project plans to nurture Japanese-wine fans continuously and help revitalize regional tourism through experience-based gifts that let donors visit production areas and learn about winery initiatives, as well as events that provide opportunities to interact with producers.
