What is the "Japan Wine Competition 2022" (Japanese wine competition)?
The "Japan Wine Competition 2022" is one of Japan's largest wine competitions, held annually with the aim of improving the quality and recognition of Japanese wine made from 100% Japanese-grown grapes, as well as enhancing the image of each region and the individuality and status of Japanese wine.
Although canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this historic and prestigious wine competition marked its 18th edition in 2022 since its inception in 2003.
This time, a record 108 wineries entered a total of 706 wines.
Among them, 24 wines were awarded Gold Awards.
