"wa-syu" offers a lineup of products from noteworthy Japanese wineries, and now has finally begun carrying wines from "SunSun Winery" in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture.

What is "SunSun Winery"?
"SunSun Winery" is a winery located in the Kakizawa district of Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture.
Operated by the Social Welfare Corporation Sun Vision, which develops nursing care and child-rearing support businesses, this winery has attracted attention for its grape growing and winemaking that maximize the individuality of the land.
In 2011, the corporation cleared desolate abandoned farmland and began planting wine grape varieties, establishing the winery along with the shop and restaurant "Bottega" in 2015.
In the autumn of the same year, they began vinification of their very first estate wine (100% estate-grown fruit).
The Kakizawa district where "SunSun Winery" is located features predominantly volcanic ash soil, and "SunSun Vineyard" in particular, with its west-facing slopes and moderate drainage, is a terroir that yields grapes that are soft with restrained tannins.
Varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay—resilient, healthy grapes that endure nature's rigors—are cultivated with great care and sparing no effort.
Winemaking at "SunSun Winery"
In addition to cultivating high-quality grapes, "SunSun Winery" is committed to "making beautiful wine."
The winery's dedication lies in thoroughly maintaining a sanitary and clean environment from the moment harvested grapes are brought in until the final moment they are shipped as wine.
Led by Factory Manager Shogo Tamura, they work from viticulture through vinification to craft wines that are clean and bursting with fruit flavors.
