Brighten up tonight's dinner table with J-CRAFT WINE!

When it comes to the image of Japanese wine, impressions such as "it looks delicious" and "it offers the peace of mind of being domestically produced" are said to be the most common. On the other hand, there are also occasional comments like "it seems expensive" or "I can't finish a whole bottle once I open it."

When asked about their impression of Japanese wine, most people say things like 'it looks delicious' or 'it offers the peace of mind of domestic produce,' but on the other hand, we also hear comments like 'it seems expensive' or 'I can't finish a whole bottle once it's opened.'
How often and what kind of wine makes an appearance at your daily dinner table at home?

A price point that is reasonable for casual drinking, flavors that pair easily with home-cooked meals, a quantity that can be finished without waste...
When you think about it, balancing all these factors is crucial.

'J-CRAFT WINE,' released by Mitsubishi Shokuhin on Tuesday, September 27, solves all those concerns at once and is such a perfect fit for the daily dinner table that we interviewed Mr. Shimaoka from Mitsubishi Shokuhin, who was in charge of product development!

Plus, we even put pairing into practice together!

Four varieties that let you enjoy the true essence of Japanese wine

There are four types of wine:
Each wine highlights varieties unique to its region, as well as the distinct personality of each winery!

(From left)
・ Edelwine White
Origin: Iwate Prefecture
Variety: Riesling Lion
A variety unique to Japan, created by crossing Riesling with Koshu Sanjaku.
It is a light, refreshing wine with a delicate hint of sweetness.

・ Goichi Wine Red
Origin: Nagano Prefecture
Varieties: Muscat Bailey A, Merlot
This features Muscat Bailey A, another red wine variety representing Japan.
And when you think of Goichi, Merlot is an absolute must.

・ Tokachi Jozo Red
Origin: Hokkaido
Varieties: Yamasachi, Zweigeltrebe
Following Koshu and Muscat Bailey A, 'Yamasachi' is the third variety registered with the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine). This red wine uses 65% Yamasachi.
If you haven't tried it yet, give it a try!

・ Katsunuma Jozo Co., Ltd. White
Region: Yamanashi Prefecture
Variety: Koshu
When you think of Japanese wine, you think of Koshu!
Recently, Koshu wines made in various styles have become available, but this wine allows you to directly experience the pure characteristics of the Koshu grape variety.

A convenient size and price!

All of these J-CRAFT WINEs are priced at 1,380 yen (retail price before tax)!
The volume is roughly enough for 5 glasses.
Looking at it that way, it is quite an accessible price point, isn't it?
At this price, buying all 4 bottles together and choosing which one to open based on your menu for the day could be a great option.

Furthermore, these bottles come in a smart 500ml size!

Full bottles of wine are typically 750ml, which often leads to the problem of "not being able to finish it in one sitting."
With this size, 2 to 3 people can enjoy about 2 or 3 glasses each, which is just right.
Also, you can pair them with meals—a white wine for your first glass and a red wine for your second—or get together at home parties or girls' nights out
for a tasting comparison of all 4 varieties, or even a blind tasting competition, which is sure to be a hit!

No opener needed, and no worries even if you can't finish it in one day!
Even if you'd like to feature wine at your dining table, some of you might be hesitant about opening the bottle.
These all use screw caps, so anyone can easily open them.
What's more, if you want to enjoy it over multiple days, you don't need a special stopper like a Vacu Vin.

Simply having wine on the table somehow brightens the atmosphere, and it feels like it even changes the conversation around the dining table.
Please try adding it to your everyday dining table.

On sale starting September 27 at supermarkets nationwide!
