Emerging from a quiet road through the mountain pass where nothing else stands, a beautiful vineyard appears. The winery sits right at the top of the mountain.
Why build a winery deep in the mountains like this? And what kind of wines are crafted here?

Ryomi Winery reportedly began as wasteland deep in the mountains. President Ryoetsu Hayasaka brought in heavy equipment and started clearing the land all by himself. We spoke with Director Miyoko Hayasaka about the appeal of the beautiful Ryomi Winery born from such painstaking efforts.

Ryomi Winery features an on-site accommodation facility, "Retreat Ryomi," alongside "Ryomi Wine & Dine," a restaurant where guests can enjoy dishes that showcase the appeal of local ingredients. It is truly the ideal location for a winery stay!

This was my first visit in a while since visiting the winery in 2019, and I was once again captivated by the open vineyard spanning over three hectares and the nature-rich environment surrounded by the Nanatsumori mountains.

In addition to the wonderful quality of the wine, I was amazed by their dedication to the lodging facilities and the high quality of the cuisine served at the restaurant.

After graduating from university, she served as a secretary at a construction company, involved in leasing and construction projects for numerous food and beverage establishments. Driven by her passions, she later earned certifications in food, wine, and sake, working as a journalist, writer, and food service consultant. In 2014, she became Representative Director of Shokureco Co., Ltd., a provider of food and beverage-focused services. She also serves as an instructor at the wine school L'ecole du Vin, promoting a rich lifestyle through food and wine.
