Kyushu's first urban winery, "Hakata Wine Jozo-sho Takenoya."

New Japanese wine will be released on November 20, 2024.

Let us share the details.

Three Types of Hakata Nouveau

"Hakata Wine Jozo-sho Takenoya" is Kyushu's first urban winery, operated by Takeno Corporation.

This year's Japanese wine Hakata Nouveau uses grapes delivered directly from contracted farmers in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, and is brewed in-house at Hakata Wine Jozo-sho by Kiyomi Takashima, a certified enologist and female winemaker—a "Hakata-brewed wine."

Hakata Nouveau comes in three varieties: "Niagara Orange," "Black Queen," and "Concord," and will be released on November 20, 2024, one day earlier than Beaujolais Nouveau.

Hakata Nouveau Festival to Be Held

For two days only, November 20 (Wed) and 21 (Thu), the "Hakata Nouveau Festival" will be held at "Hakata Wine Jozo-sho Takenoya JRJP Hakata Store."

A tasting of five types of "Japanese wine" made from Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture grapes crafted by different winemakers will be offered, available for two days only at 990 yen, 40% off the regular price of 1,650 yen.

In addition, on both days starting at 7 p.m., there will be a special arrangement where guests can enjoy the new wine while listening to live string quartet performances.
