Vantech Co., Ltd. released sandblasted versions of its magic muddler and tumbler in limited quantities on December 9, 2022.
These are items that age wine, which have become a major topic of conversation in the media.
Here are the details.
Development Background
Vantech Co., Ltd. is a company that has been engaged in the wastewater treatment business.
Through trial and error to see if the metal catalyst technology used in wastewater treatment could be applied to daily life, the 78 mm and 220 mm "magic muddler and tumbler" were born.
This time, a sandblasted finish has been adopted in addition to the conventional hairline finish.
It is said that they were able to provide improved durability and create a sense of luxury from a different angle than before, thanks to the matte texture.
Product Features
The magic muddler and tumbler utilize the metal catalyst developed independently by the company, which is said to have the effect of making beverages "mellow."
The drink's mouthfeel becomes mellow due to a reaction that occurs when the beverage comes into contact with the catalyst-treated surface.
As the drink's molecules are adsorbed onto the catalyst-treated surface, their energy is stripped away, weakening the molecular bonds within the beverage, and this sequence of events is said to make the drink feel mellow.
Other distinctive features include the simple yet sophisticated design created by product designer Michio Akita and the inimitable metalworking technology, making them products born from the power of craftsmanship that Japan is proud of.
