On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Numéro Neuf Co., Ltd. launched a project for its new “Numéro UsubeNi NV” on the support-purchase platform Makuake.
The label design was supervised by internationally known kimono designer Jotaro Saito.
The Taste of “Numéro UsubeNi NV”
The wine is characterized by “a sweet, rich aroma reminiscent of berries, followed by a strikingly dry, clean finish.”
Its defining contrast comes from taking table-grape varieties long grown in Japan—Niagara and Campbell Early—and vinifying them with the same secondary fermentation in bottle used for Champagne.
Projecting the “EAST END”
The label was designed by Jotaro Saito, one of Japan’s leading kimono designers and textile artists.
It uses finely rendered grape motifs to create a mysterious, spiritual world.
Fusing Japanese tradition with contemporary sensibility, the design has a beauty that makes the bottle feel worth keeping as an art piece even after the wine is gone.
Representative Kaori Sakihama comments on Numéro UsubeNi NV: “Aesthetic sensibility is not about piling on lavish decoration, but about discerning what is essential. I want to fuse the spirit of Japan’s grape growers with the artistic sensibility I developed in Paris and elevate Japanese wine to a global status. The new Numéro UsubeNi NV is the first step in that challenge.”
