FELISSIMO operates "Konogoro (R)", a media outlet that stays close to the everyday lives of young working adults.
"Next Generation, Living Exploration Lab (R)," which runs the media platform, founded the "FELISSIMO Kotoba-bu" and launched its first project, the "Osoroi Tanka Award," accepting submissions starting September 20.
Winners can reportedly also receive wine as a gift.
Here are the details.
About the "Osoroi Tanka Award"
The "Osoroi Tanka Award" is an initiative to solicit next-generation tanka on the theme of "osoroi" (matching/pairing), prompted by "Osoroi Day," an anniversary certified by the Japan Anniversary Association and established by FELISSIMO, while focusing on "contemporary tanka," a culture gaining growing attention among the younger generation.
The feelings that can be placed into 31 characters are limitless, and the organizers hope that writing a tanka will serve as an opportunity to notice one's current emotions, peer into the spaces between characters, and try composing tanka for the first time.
Works selected for the "Osoroi Tanka Award" will be announced on November 11, "Osoroi Day," on the official X account of "FELISSIMO Kotoba-bu."
You can get wine!
In the "Osoroi Tanka Award," a total of three awards are offered: Gold Prize (1 winner), Silver Prize (2 winners), and Bronze Prize (3 winners).
The Gold Prize is a "Kobe Trip for Two Set," the Silver Prize is "Wine from Felissimo Brewery f winery," and the Bronze Prize is an Aderia Retro 2-Glass Set; the "Wine from Felissimo Brewery f winery" is said to feature an original label designed with the winning tanka.
