About "The 50th Mount Tsukuba Plum Blossom Festival"
"The 50th Mount Tsukuba Plum Blossom Festival" is a classic early spring tradition.
In the Mount Tsukuba Plum Grove welcoming spring, approximately 1,000 plum trees bloom from February to March, showcasing their most beautiful scenery of the year.
From the "Observation Gazebo" at the top of the plum grove, visitors can delight their eyes with plum blossoms below, the rural landscape at the foot of Mount Tsukuba, the cityscape of the Science City, and even views of Tokyo Skytree and Mount Fuji on clear days.
The event also features a variety of content, including plum gourmet foods such as the Ume Cafe and Ume-shoku.
Tsukuba Wine Fest Also Held
During "The 50th Mount Tsukuba Plum Blossom Festival," alcoholic beverage events titled "Kanpai Tsukuba ~kampaitsukuba~" will be held over two days.

It is a special festival where you can enjoy Tsukuba's local sake as well as freshly pressed new sake (shinshu).
Then, the following week on Saturday, March 11, the "Tsukuba Wine Fest" will be held, featuring wines from the Tsukuba Wine and Fruit Special Zone.
