From Saturday, March 18 to Tuesday (national holiday), March 21, 2023, the local gourmet event "Furusato Gourmet Terrace ~Tohoku Local Sake Fest~" will be held at Okachimachi Panda Square in front of JR Okachimachi Station.
The event will also feature the very first winery from Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture.
Here are the details.
About "Furusato Gourmet Terrace ~Tohoku Local Sake Fest~"
"Furusato Gourmet Terrace ~Tohoku Local Sake Fest~" is a gourmet event organized by Intern Inc.
It is planned and operated by the company's representative, a native of Miyagi Prefecture, along with volunteer staff in their 20s and 30s driven by the desires to "never let the memory of the Great East Japan Earthquake fade" and "support Tohoku."
At the venue, delicious local sake from Tohoku and traditional local cuisine from across the Tohoku region will gather together.
Along with popular gourmet shops from across Tohoku such as "Hiden no Tare Butadon Butaichi," "FRIED pride," and "Aomi," fairground attractions like bouncy ball scooping and cotton candy are also scheduled to be available.
Alcohol from Tohoku Gathers as Well!
When it comes to local gourmet events, the alcoholic beverages are naturally a major highlight.
While local sake from Tohoku—represented by breweries like Hachinohe Shuzo, Akita Jozo, and Tatenokawa Shuzo—will take center stage, this edition will also feature "WINERYJUN," the first winery in Kitakata, Fukushima Prefecture.
It is an emerging, "participatory" natural winery where visitors can experience the present of Fukushima with all five senses, having just opened its winery in April 2020.
Why not take this opportunity to check it out?
Supporting Tohoku!
"Furusato Gourmet Terrace" is a local gourmet event whose mission is to "convey the appeal of regional areas through food."
According to the organizing company, they hope visitors will savor the Tohoku atmosphere right in Tokyo, and that it will serve as an opportunity to connect with and support Tohoku.
Be sure to support Tohoku once again through Tohoku gourmet food.
