A new shop built around the concept of “Ekinaka Entertainment” will open inside JR Takanawa Gateway Station on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
The brands carried include some noteworthy wines.
Here are the details.
About the new shops
The development inside JR Takanawa Gateway Station is based on the concept of “Ekinaka Entertainment.”
Aiming to increase the value of spending time at the station, four shops have been created to rethink how people spend their time there. They include a sweets shop with a workshop where customers can watch the production process and food-and-drink venues offering refined spaces and music.
The shops include MAISON CLASSIC CAFE, MAISON CLASSIC SALON, and MAISON CLASSIC FACTORY.
These three stores belong to one brand, each offering a different experience so customers can choose according to their mood that day.
Outside the second-floor ticket gate, event space MACHIAI will also open as an experiential venue connecting the station with local communities.
Built around themes of encounters between towns and expressing affection for local places, MACHIAI will regularly host hands-on events that communicate attractions from across Japan. It is intended as a station “waiting room” that people can drop into casually.
Noteworthy wine too
Brands currently announced include:
• Alcohol made in Minato City
Tokyo Port Brewery — various sake
FETISH CLUB — craft beer
Kunisawa Brewing Co. — craft beer
WINEMAN FACTORY — wine
Bar Marché Kodama
PASSAGE COFFEE
Among them, WINEMAN FACTORY is a combined winery, restaurant, and wine shop in a renovated traditional house just by Tamachi Station, promoted as possibly Japan’s narrowest winery.
It is a chance to check out a talked-about wine producer.
Look forward to the March 27 opening.
