On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Sansun Winery will release four Japanese wines as part of its Trial Series.
A new-product presentation and limited tasting will also be held at the winery’s shop.
Here are the details.
About the “Trial Series”
Sansun Winery is experimenting with a variety of grapes as it seeks to make Japanese wines that express the terroir of Shiojiri, Shinshu while responding to global climate change and other challenges.
Because the wines are produced using experimental growing methods and winemaking techniques, quantities are too limited for general distribution. They are therefore offered as limited Trial Series releases.
The Four Trial Series Releases
The four wines are:
★ Kakizawa Pinot Noir 2023 — ¥2,970, tax included
★ Kataoka Marselan 2023 — ¥3,740, tax included
★ Higashiyama Sauvignon Blanc 2023 — ¥2,970, tax included
★ Kataoka Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 — ¥3,740, tax included
The labels use “Gorilla,” an artwork by Tin-kun, an artist with disabilities.
His work combines rich, diverse color with lively expressions that evoke the vitality of life. This is the third time he has created labels for Sansun Winery.
