The Historic Matsugaoka Reclamation Site is normally closed to the public at night.
On September 23 and October 8, the site will be specially opened for “Samurai Silk Night.”
Matsugaoka wine will also be served at the evening Kabuki wine dinner show.
Here are the details.
About “Samurai Silk Night”
“Samurai Silk Night” is a special event that opens and illuminates the Historic Matsugaoka Reclamation Site, which is normally closed at night.
On both dates, limited-time guided tours in Japanese and English will take visitors through the history of the Matsugaoka Reclamation Site.
Matsugaoka is a fascinating place where the samurai spirit remains deeply rooted.
The organizers hope visitors will immerse themselves in Matsugaoka in an atmosphere a little different from usual.
Evening Kabuki Wine Dinner Show
On September 23 only, Kabuki actor Hashigo Nakamura and performers from Kuromori Kabuki will give a special outdoor performance at the illuminated Matsugaoka Reclamation Site.
Guests can watch Kabuki while enjoying Matsugaoka wine and the rich cuisine of Tsuruoka.
The price is 5,000 yen per person, including two glasses of wine and a meal.
