Tamai Bekkan has long been a familiar presence in Tamatsukuri Onsen since its founding.
After renovations inside the property in September 2025, the inn changed its name to “Tamatsukuri Onsen RYOKAN OQOQ.”
Guests can apparently enjoy Shimane wine there as well.
Here are the details.
About the New Name “OQOQ”
Tamai Bekkan is an inn in Shimane Prefecture that has long been loved in Tamatsukuri Onsen.
Under the concept “Excitement that stays deep in your memory,” it was renewed as an inn offering diverse ways to spend time, with spaces such as a kids’ area, a post-bath lounge and a bar lounge designed to bring together children’s smiles, relaxation for adults and healthy, restorative moments.
It has also become the first property in Shimane Prefecture certified as a “Welcome Baby Inn” by Miki House Child-Rearing Research Institute.
The result is a noteworthy inn designed to offer peace of mind and comfort to families raising children.
About the New Name “OQOQ”
Reborn as “Tamatsukuri Onsen RYOKAN OQOQ,” the coined name expresses the idea of “excitement hidden deep within.”
Major additions in the renovation include the kids’ space “Oku no Mori,” the post-bath area “Sukoyaka Hiroma,” and the night bar “BAR ~enn~.”
At “BAR ~enn~” in particular, guests can enjoy local sake from Shimane, known as a birthplace of sake, as well as café drinks and Shimane wine.
Guests booked on plans including dinner and breakfast can enjoy the bar free of charge, making it recommended for Japanese wine fans as well.
