Engaru Red Wine “Kokuyo Rouge 2025” Now Available Online

Michi-no-Eki Engaru Mori no Okhotsk has begun selling the Engaru-made red wine “Kokuyo Rouge 2025” through its official online store.

Now in its second year, 2,530 bottles of the highly drinkable red wine were produced this year.

About Kokuyo Rouge 2025

“Kokuyo Rouge 2025” is made entirely from grapes grown in a vineyard in Shirataki, Engaru Town, by Agri Nexus Co., Ltd., a group company of Watanabegumi Holdings Co., Ltd., and is vinified under contract by Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd.

Previously sold at locations including the roadside station, the wine can now also be purchased through the online store.

About the wine

The wine uses “Maeve,” a wine-grape variety grown in Shirataki, an area of Engaru known for particularly severe winter cold.

It is described as having pleasant acidity, restrained tannins, solid fruit character and a clean, easy-drinking texture.

Price: 3,980 yen including tax for 750 ml.
