On Friday, March 20, 2026, the Yamagata Prefecture Wine Brewers Association will hold “Yamagata Vendange 2026” in Koenji, Tokyo.
Ticket reservations began on Tuesday, January 20.
Here are the details.
What Is Yamagata Vendange?
Yamagata Vendange is organized by the Vendange Executive Committee within the Yamagata Prefecture Wine Brewers Association, which comprises 23 wineries in Yamagata. The event offers a full taste of the appeal of Yamagata wine.
The name “Vendange” combines the French word “vin,” meaning wine, with “daje,” representing the Yamagata dialect expression “daze.” The name was created with the hope that people would feel closer to Yamagata wine.
About “Yamagata Vendange 2026”
The theme for Yamagata Vendange 2026 is “Reborn.”
It is a walk-around event where guests can enjoy a wide variety of Yamagata wines together with food that pairs well with wine. To showcase the different character of wines from each area and the strong affinity between Yamagata wine and food, guests will visit eight Koenji restaurants with ties to wine.
Two new restaurants have joined this year, bringing the total to eight, while the number of participating wineries has increased to 19.
Along with opportunities to talk with winemakers, the event promises a day of pairings between a broad range of Yamagata wines and each restaurant's distinctive dishes.
