From May 30, 2025, Three Peaks, a winery in Ofunato, Iwate, will release pouch-style “Umimachi Wine.”

Three Peaks’ Pouch-Style Wine
Three Peaks is a family-run winery founded in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture in 2018.
With a philosophy of creating “moments that make you feel gentler,” the winery makes Japanese wines that complement the region’s food culture.
The winery has now developed pouch-style wine that is easy to carry for travel, camping and many other occasions while also offering strong storage performance.
The goal is to make authentic Japanese wine easier for more people to enjoy casually.
Product Features
The new pouch-style wines join the Umimachi Wine series.
Convenience and functionality: The lightweight, shatter-resistant pouch allows wine to be enjoyed easily outdoors, at picnics, while camping and in many other settings.
The pouch also has excellent light- and oxygen-blocking properties, helping preserve the wine’s flavor for a long period.
Because it is lighter than a glass bottle, it can also help reduce CO2 emissions during transportation.
Umimachi Wine Pouch White is a dry blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Gris characterized by refreshing acidity and fruity aromas.
It pairs well with seafood, salads and light appetizers, and is especially recommended with dishes using seafood from Sanriku.
The pouch-wine lineup consists of three types: white (Chardonnay and Pinot Gris), red (Merlot and Syrah), and apple wine. Flavored apple wines such as yuzu and Muscat are planned for release around summer 2025.
