The winery was established in 2013 by Kiichiro Ochi, who studied winemaking in West Germany and Austria, eventually making his way from Nagano Prefecture to Niigata Prefecture and then to Yoichi Town in Hokkaido, where he continues to craft his ideal wines.
オチガビワイナリー crafts pure "Japanese wine" through brewing methods rare in Japan, such as growing wine grapes from scratch on the winery grounds, letting them overripen, and pressing and fermenting the freshly harvested fruit in the cellar.

"ぶどう収穫体験特別プラン" held at オチガビワイナリー is a one-day plan combining harvest work with a lunch course and a winery tour.

9:00 – 13:00 Grape Harvest Experience
Experience harvesting grapes in the vineyard. Staff will explain how to pick them. *Includes a 30-minute break in between.
13:00 – 14:30 Lunch Course
Enjoy a course meal at the winery's attached restaurant. The main dish is Yoichi wheat-fed pork braised in red wine.
14:30 – 16:00 winery Tour
A tour of オチガビワイナリー's cellar. Explanations of the production process will be provided, showing how the harvested grapes become wine.
To reiterate, オチガビワイナリー's grape harvest experience is open to the general public starting this year.

■ What to bring / Clothing: Please wear clothes that can get dirty and comfortable walking shoes. Please bring work gloves and scissors (office scissors are fine). Bringing a hat is also recommended.
