Nirasaki City in Yamanashi Prefecture will hold the FY2026 Nirasaki Wine Seminar and has begun accepting applications.
The seminar is designed to promote local industry and foster wine culture by teaching the fundamentals of wine in an enjoyable, systematic way.
About the Seminar
The FY2026 Nirasaki Wine Seminar consists of seven sessions.
In addition to classroom learning on the history and knowledge of wines from Japan and around the world, the curriculum includes practical experiences unique to Nirasaki as a wine-producing region, including tastings and tours of wineries in the city.
The instructor is Daisuke Motegi, a sommelier certified by the Japan Sommelier Association.
With clear explanations from a professional sommelier, everyone from beginners to enthusiasts can enjoy deepening their knowledge.
Course Program
The program consists of seven sessions.
Session 1: History of wine
Session 2: French wine
Session 3: Wines of the world
Session 4: Wines of Yamanashi Prefecture
Session 5: Tour of wineries in Nirasaki
Session 6: Japanese wine
Session 7: Completion ceremony
Sessions will be held at Scape on the fifth floor of Amerikaya in Chuo-cho, Nirasaki City, and other locations.
