Japanese Wine Specialist Sirocco Celebrates Its 2nd Anniversary! Japanese Wine Fans Gather in Kitasando!

Japanese Wine Sirocco in Kitasando is a wine bar well known to Japanese wine lovers.
Located just a 3-minute walk from Kitasando Station on the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, this wine bar specializing in Japanese wine stands quietly tucked away in a corner of a residential neighborhood.

Stepping inside the shop, you will be utterly overwhelmed by the Japanese wine lining the entire glass walk-in cellar.
Any wine lover could easily spend 15 minutes just gazing at the collection.

All of these were purchased by the owner, Tomoko-san, from wineries across Japan over many years.
Even before opening the bar, she visited wineries across Japan as a hobby and built up her collection, and among them are scarce, ultra-rare bottles.

Japanese Wine Sirocco recently celebrated its 2nd anniversary and held an anniversary event.

Sirocco usually offers an atmosphere where you can relax and quietly enjoy wine.
However, on this day, wines selected by the owner, Tomoko-san, and manager, Iwama-san, lined the counter, and attendees enjoyed the style of freely pouring glasses themselves.
Pouring a little of each wine that caught their interest for a tasting, guests shared impressions with one another and exchanged information about producers and wineries.
With an atmosphere distinctly different from the usual, it was a lively evening of savoring Japanese wine.

So Many Options!? The Charm of Japanese Wine Sirocco

During regular business hours, orders are placed from the wine list.
Just looking at this wine list is a joy in itself!
A wine list offering this extensive a selection of Japanese wine from regions across the country is rarely found elsewhere.

At Sirocco, you can also enjoy Japanese wine by the glass.
And there are so many options to choose from!
While many establishments boast abundant bottle lists, options generally become extremely limited when ordering by the glass.
Furthermore, if you are looking strictly for Japanese wine, the choices are even narrower.
Yet true to its standing as a wine bar specializing in Japanese wine, the by-the-glass list features a diverse range of regions, varieties, and wine styles.
Manager and sommelier Iwama-san curates the offerings daily, so please look forward to it when you visit!

While many may think of wine bars as a place for a second stop of the evening, those who want to take their time enjoying various wines alongside food can also make an advance reservation for simple platters such as hors d'oeuvres. (Reservation required)

Not only for Japanese wine enthusiasts, it offers a thoroughly satisfying experience for those who "like wine but are not very knowledgeable," "want to first find out what Japanese wine is like," or "want to try various kinds of Japanese wine."
If you are curious, be sure to pay a visit!
