Have you made plans for Golden Week yet?
With so many wine-related events taking place, this may be the season for the pleasant dilemma of deciding where to go and whom to invite.
Wine events near Tokyo are especially appealing because you can enjoy both wine and nature on an easy day trip.

Nature in the Setting, the Vineyard and the Winemaking: Musashi Winery
Musashi Winery, located in Ogawa, Saitama Prefecture, a little over an hour from Ikebukuro Station on the Tobu Tojo Line, makes natural wines with Shokoshi as its flagship grape.
In the vineyard, the winery practices completely pesticide-free cultivation, without even using Bordeaux mixture, a treatment permitted under JAS organic standards. It also uses no chemical fertilizers. In the winemaking process, it reportedly uses no added yeast, chaptalization, antioxidants or fining agents.

At Musashi Winery, WINE WEEK 2026 will be held for four days from Saturday, May 2 through Tuesday, May 5 (public holiday).
Enjoying wine outdoors while looking over a vineyard covered in natural ground vegetation is a perfect seasonal experience. Shuttle-bus reservations are available between Musashi Winery’s station-front shop, just a two-minute walk from Ogawamachi Station, and the winery, so you can enjoy a day-trip wine event without a car.
Alongside Musashi Winery wines, the four-day event will feature natural food, music and winery tours.
The round-trip bus fare is ¥500, paid on site, but advance reservations come with either a glass of wine worth ¥500 or gelato. In other words, the bus is effectively free.
(Reserve using the free ticket and pay the bus fare when you board on the day.)
