Special wines have been introduced by St. Cousair Co., Ltd.
Wines featuring limited-edition labels commemorating the Gokaicho of Zenko-ji Temple (Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture)—"Gokaicho Memorial N Blanc" and "Gokaicho Memorial N Rouge"—are now on sale.
Let us take a closer look at the details.
About the "Gokaicho" of Zenko-ji Temple
The "Gokaicho" of Zenko-ji Temple is a major event held once every seven years.
The Maedachi Honzon, which is said to have the same appearance as the secretly enshrined principal image, is put on display, and millions of people reportedly visit to pay their respects during the period.
The "Gokaicho" is being held this year after being postponed from its scheduled date last year.
It will be held for the period from Sunday, April 3 to Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
About the "Limited-Edition Label" Wines
The wines introduced by St. Cousair this time are "Gokaicho Memorial N Blanc" and "Gokaicho Memorial N Rouge."
The "Gokaicho Memorial N Blanc" is a wine with a fresh, Muscat-like aroma and fruity sweetness, crafted by pressing Niagara grapes from Hokkaido to allow you to enjoy a gorgeous scent and sweet flavor.
On the other hand, "Gokaicho Memorial N Rouge" is an approachable red wine with a beautiful reddish-purple hue and aromas of ripe berries and spices, and it is said to be best enjoyed slightly chilled in the coming season.
Both wines feature wonderfully designed labels, making them suitable to display as interior decor even after you finish drinking them.
