About the Donation Project
“From a Grape-Growing Region Surrounded by Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains to a World-Class Wine Region” is a project seeking donations through the Corporate Hometown Tax platform Kifuru Online.
Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is currently home to five distinctive wineries.
More new wineries are expected to open in the future.
To accelerate this momentum, winery representatives, grape growers, the chamber of commerce, and local government officials have joined forces to establish the Nirasaki Wine Promotion Executive Committee.
Working together across Nirasaki, the initiative aims to establish and build the brand of wine produced in the city.
What the Project Aims to Achieve
The project is intended to go beyond simply developing a local specialty product.
It aims to create synergies and a virtuous cycle across multiple fields, including securing the next generation of local farmers, reducing abandoned farmland, creating jobs, addressing population decline, and collaborating with restaurants and other food-service businesses in the city.
