About the Karuizawa Fermentation Festival
The festival is organized in collaboration between Karuizawa Marriott Hotel and Fermentation Valley NAGANO, a partnership involving eight organizations and companies from Nagano’s fermented-food industries.
Through experiences centered on “eat, see, and make,” visitors can discover Nagano’s fermentation culture. Around 20 fermented-food producers from the prefecture will participate over the course of the event.
There will also be hands-on workshops for children and adults and talk events led by fermentation specialists.
Nagano Wineries Will Participate Too!
During the festival, the depth of fermentation culture rooted in Nagano, one of Japan’s leading prefectures for longevity, will be introduced through the three experiences of eating, seeing, and making.
The hotel will also offer limited-time original fermentation plates and refreshing fermented drinks.
Exhibitors span sake, beer, cheese and more, with wine also represented.
Scheduled wineries include Karuizawa Ann Winery, Shinano Wine, Villa d’Est Gardenfarm and Winery, Manns Wine Komoro Winery, and Rue de Vin.
